Sept-illion

North American Usage

A septillion is a large number equal to a 1 with 24 0's, namely: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (10)

It is a thousand sextillion and one thousandth of an octillion. 10^24 is equal to a quadrillion in the European System

This number is just a little less than twice as large as Avogadro's number, which is a mole in chemistry.

European Usage

A septillion is equal to a 1 with 42 0's, namely: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (10)

It is a million sextillion and one millionth of an octillion, or, a thousand sextilliard and one thousandth of a septilliard. 10^42 is equal to a quattuordecillion in the North American System
