Capel-le-Ferne (Population 2140), whose name derives from the phrase "Chapel in the Ferns", is situated near Folkestone, Kent. Perched on top of the White cliffs of Dover, its foremost attraction is the Battle of Britain Memorial, opened by the Queen Mother and dedicated to those who fought and lost their lives over the channel during World War II.

Attractions

  • The "Cliff-Top Café" - Panoramic views of the coastline, traditional coastal foods and friendly local service.
  • The Warren - A walk through the landscape of the cliff-face leading down to the sea.
  • Farmers' Market - selling of local produce and crafts.
  • The Lighthouse Restaurant - pub meals and beverages with a nautical theme, unfortunately not in a lighthouse.
