Manomohan Acharya is a poet and lyricist from India. His famous lyric Madhava-bhajanam is musically composed by A.R.Rehman and danced by Shilpa Shetty in the Indo-Chinese Movie, The Desire. He is also a researcher and published author.

Early life And edducation

In Ravenshaw College, 1987

Manomohan Acharya was born in the village Lathanga in Jagatsinghpur district in Orissa, India in 1967. The fifth among the surviving children,Manmohan was born in a Sanskrit family of Lathanga, Orissa of parents Pandit Mayadhar Acharya and Parvati Devi. He completed his B.A. at Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, in 1989, and received his M.A. from Utkal University in 1991. He studied law in University Law College, Bhubaneswar, and Vedic studies in Sri Jagannath Sanskrit Viswavidyalaya, Puri. He received his PhD in 2003.

1.Gita-mohanam (lyrics) ; Gita-Mohanam is famous sanskrit poetry book written by Indian Poet Vanikavi Dr. Manomohan Acharya. 7 numbers of songs from this book are taken to the Bhakti Sangeeta C.D. of International Prajnan Mission and 1 devotional song from this Gitamohanam is included in Indo-chinese Movie, The Desire.

2.Gita-bhaaratam(lyrics) Gitabhaaratam is a compilation of patriotic songs, written and composed by famous Indian Sanskrit Poet Vanikavi Dr.Manomohan Acharya. This book contains many melodious songs those touches the heart and mind. This book has been awarded by Indian Sanskrit Sahitya Academy in the year 2008.

3.Gita-Milindam (Lyrics) This is a Sanskrit lyrical poetry with lucid, simple and suggestive expression. contains 15 gunjans (songs) in different melodious rhythms. The Poet sweeped over untouched horizons and speakes for the common mass.The couple of bumble-bees are the natural singers and enjoyers of life 's honey. By taking them as anchors of his presentation of poetic message,the poet has not only shown a creative technique but also suggested his attitude to life. Looking at his off-beat theme, none can deny that he is projecting the voice of the mass and hence a postmodern poet.

4.Palli-panchaasika  ; Palli-panchasika is a Khandakavya, written by Acharya Manmohan published in the year 1987. Sri Acharya ,a famous Sanskrit Poet from Orissa successfully added a new kavya of Panchasika type to the treasury of Sanskrit literature. This work basically describes the external nature of pallis, the villages and the internal natural expression of a son towards his mother, who lives abroad.
