Kathleen Emperatriz "Kat" DeLuna (born November 17, 1987 in Newark, New Jersey) is an American Pop and R&B singer of Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage. She is currently signed to Universal Motown after previously being signed to Epic. She is noted for her Soprano vocal range and has won one Latin Billboard Music Award for her debut single "Whine Up".

DeLuna was finally picked up by Epic Records and was signed to both labels. She is managedyo management is ran by Damon Degraff and Greg Maurice. Her debut album, 9 Lives, produced by hitmaker RedOne, was released on August 7, 2007. It peaked on the Billboard Top 200 Albums at #58 on August 25, 2007. Kat became highly successful overseas. In France, her hit single, "Run The Show" held the #1 position for weeks. At Thae Latin Billboard Music Awards 2008, DeLuna won the award in the 'Latin Dance Club Play Track Of The Year' category for her debut single "Whine Up"

In September 2008, DeLuna performed the US National Anthem at Texas Stadium during the Monday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. The performance garnered much media attention because of the booing coming from the crowd, during and after her performance.

2009–present: Inside Out

DeLuna premiered a new song called "Calling You", specifying that it was only an exclusive single and not a single from her second album. She premiered the song on her MySpace page and her website. Dawn Richard, ex-Danity Kane member, was confirmed to be writing for Kat DeLuna's upcoming album. DeLuna filmed the video for her third worldwide single "In The End," only released in Europe. The video for the single premiered on YouTube in January 2009, along with the unreleased video for "Am I Dreaming?".

In 2009, her single "Unstoppable" featuring Lil' Wayne (featured on the soundtrack of the 2009 film Confessions of a Shopaholic starring Isla Fisher, along with Calling You) was released. She released a video, and set out on a "Gay Club" tour in February 2009 in the United States. Currently she has released a new single entitled "Dance Bailalo" featuring cousin Coviceaperry Hollins- McCall, labelled "the single of the summer of 2009" by the popular pop culture blogger Perez Hilton. She is currently recording tracks for her 2-disc English/Spanish album, Inside Out. In June 2009, Kat DeLuna performed at New York City's Fashion Industries High School prom, as the star of My Prom Style's official website feature: "Ultimate Prom" fashion reality series. Three aspiring teen designers are competing to design the dress she wears to prom, and the pattern of the winning dress will be produced and sold nationwide by Simplicity Patterns.

After the releases of "Unstoppable" and "Dance Bailalo", Kat DeLuna released the official first single from Inside Out entitled "Push Push" on April 13th 2010. The song was produced by RADIO and written by Nasri, RADIO, Tiwa Savage and Kat Deluna, and features Akon.

In February 2010 she became part of the 50 Latin stars that participated in the Spanish remake of We are the world called Somos el Mundo alongside other Dominican singers : Juan Luis Guerra, Milly Quezada, Eddy Herrera, Romeo (Aventura), Fernando Villalona and Latin artist such as Paulina Rubio, Thalia, Belinda, Luis Fonsi, Chayanne among others.

After another attempt at a single, Kat is expected to release a new single titled "Be There" produced by Eightysix before the release of the album. Another Kat song surfaced onto the Internet on July 7, 2010 titled "Party O'Clock" produced by RedOne. Kat DeLuna performed her take on Katy Perry's "California Gurls" which is said to be titled "New York Gurls"at the CBS Radio Expo on June 26, 2010. On July 16th another Kat Deluna song leaked on the internet called "Everybody Dance" featuring Elephant Man. After this song was leaked Kat posted on her facebook a link to this song and stated "Can everybody stop leaking my songs." Minutes later this post was deleted, but this song can still be found on youtube.
