Ruth Jones (born Bridgend, Wales 22 September 1966) is a bilingual character actress perhaps best known for her performances in British comedy series and films.

She was educated at Porthcawl Comprehensive School and the University of Warwick, graduating in 1988 with a BA in Theatre Studies and Dramatic Arts. She now lives in Cardiff.

She was first seen in the hit 1999 film East is East and appeared in four series of Fat Friends. She is probably most recognisable from the popular comedy series Little Britain, in which she appears as Myfanwy, the lesbian barmaid at the Scarecrow and Mrs King pub in the Daffyd Thomas sketches.

Her other television credits include Human Remains, Tales from the Pleasure Beach and Adrian Mole: The Cappuccino Years. She also performs in Welsh in programmes such as Lolipop.

In 2005, she was commissioned to co-write the original comedy series Gavin and Stacey for Baby Cow Productions.
