There was a TV series shown on German television during the 1980's (1983-1985) and then was shown
on American TV around 1985-1986. It was an intense story about a crude man who got out of the German
army after world war two and had a series of experiences in post war Berlin. ?
The director was a phenom of that period, but I can't remember his name or the amazing actor that
gave the performance, the name of the series or anything else about it.
The series was shown on Public television in the U.S.
If anyone remembers this, please let me know at billeraj@bellsouth.net
I don't think the director was Wim wenders or Rainer Werner Fassbinder, but I may be wrong.
          Thank you, John Billera.
