Welcome!

Welcome!

Hello Squiddy, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Misplaced Pages:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  --HappyCamper 03:36, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

Re: Venn Diagrams

Hmm, your browser did replace the Chinese and Japanese characters with question marks, but I don't know why your browser would be doing that (if you use IE, you might want to download the language packs at Windows Update). You might want to try posting something to the Help Desk. Feel free to keep editing the page, though you might want to use section editing to avoid that question-mark problem. It's really no big deal. :) --AySz88^-^ 15:00, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Nuggeting

You stated that this article was "nonsense". Please re-visit both the article and the discussion. Please also visit Talk:NUGGET#Cleanup and consider adding the article to your watchlist and assisting in the effort to keep the article clear of unverifiable additions and original research by schoolchildren. Featured article for December 25th

I noticed that you have listed yourself as an atheist Wikipedian. You will probably be interested to know that Brian0918 has nominated Omnipotence paradox as the front page article for December 25th. You can vote on this matter here. The other suggestion being supported by others for that date is Christmas, although Raul654 has historically been against featuring articles on the same day as their anniversary/holiday. Hey, check out the talk page

Treblinka

Very well said on the talk page. Thanks for the well-referenced intervention. --Goodoldpolonius2 21:00, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Fauna of Maine

I tried to make the above article into an acceptable stub that actually contains factual information. Take a look and see what you think. Youngamerican 18:21, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Theodore7

A number of editors started an RfC against User:Theodore7 here. I though you might wanted to know. Cheers, R.Koot 16:25, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

Articles For Deletion

Hi, one or both of the following situations applies to you, and you may therefore be interested in related discussions.

You may also be interested in a discussion of whether or not the entire text of a whole bible chapter should be contained in the 6 articles concerning those specific chapters, and whether or not they should only use the translations favoured by fundamentalists. This is being discussed at Misplaced Pages:Centralized discussion/Whole bible chapter text.

Alan Chartock

If I provide the full URL, would that be ok? Zach 13:38, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Hello, Zach. The problem is that the text which was taken from the other site is automatically copyright of the site owner/writer unless it has been put in the public domain. (See Misplaced Pages:Copyright problems for Wiki policy and stuff about copyright.)
If you re-wrote the article using the data from the website, but using your own words, that would not have a copyright problem. There is a red link to do this at a temporary page on the copyvio banner on Alan Chartock. Hope this helps. --Squiddy | (squirt ink?) 14:34, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Linking to categories

I saw your edit summary saying that you could not link to a category. To do this, insert a colon at the start of the link like this: ]. This will insert it as a link instead of including the article in the category. --GraemeL 14:50, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks very much. --Squiddy | (squirt ink?) 15:17, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

New page patrol

Hey, try to go easy on the {{nn-bio}} tags. Derek McCormack was identified as a university Vice-chancellor in his stub. Keep up the good work otherwise! Cheers, TenOfAllTrades(talk) 00:35, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Eric Shepherd

I removed your speedy deletion tag from this article. It seems to me as the publisher of the only magazine for Apple II-related topics, that constitutes a claim of notability. I sent it to WP:AFD instead (see Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Eric Shepherd). Regards, howcheng {chat} 18:40, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

The Nation

The issue of what article should be at this title has been placed on Misplaced Pages:Requested moves. You can offer your vote and comment here: Talk:The Nation#Article title. JamesMLane t c 06:51, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

WP:RFA/Quarl

Hi Squiddy, thanks for your support in my RFA, which succeeded. If I can ever improve or help in any way, please let me know! :) Quarl 2006-02-16 12:25Z
