Joshua Joseph B. McQuoid (born 15 December 1989) is an English born Northern Ireland international footballer, currently on loan at Millwall from Bournemouth, with a view to a permanent move in January 2011.
Club career
Bournemouth
McQuoid came through the ranks at Bournemouth to make his senior début in May 2007 against Doncaster Rovers, coming on as a substitute for Brett Pitman.
He scored his first senior goal during a 4–0 win over Port Vale on 1 May 2010. Due to the lack of fire-power since the departure of striker Brett Pitman, and injuries to other strikers, McQuoid adopted the role of striker and scored five goals in his first five games as striker.
In November 2010, he scored hat-tricks in consecutive games. The first came against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup, the second a week later in the league against bottom of the table Walsall.
Millwall
McQuid signed for Millwall on loan on 25 November 2010, with a view to a permanent move once the January transfer window re-opens. A fee of around £550,000 is thought to have been agreed between the two clubs.
International career
He was called up to the senior Northern Ireland side for the first time for a friendly against Morocco and won a penalty in the dying stages of the match, converted by Rory Patterson to earn his side a draw.
