Allama Ali Khan Abro (urdu علامه علي خان ابڑو): was the famous scholar and educationist from Sindh who wrote the Sindhi translation of Quran and intended to give the Qur'an a practical contemporary interpretation. He got first position in matriculation from Bombay University and religious education from Hyderabad where he attained mastery over the Arabic and English languages, after completion of education he started lectureship. He wrote many books on different social and literary topics and also wrote separate translation for non Muslims from the request of Sindh's great freedom fighter Maulana Taj Mohammad Amrothi. Renowned short story writer Jamal Abro was his son, while researcher and journalist Badar Abro is his grandson
