• As part of the project's New Year's Resolutions, there is an ongoing effort to decrease the number of stubs to 5%. As of October 10, we are at 6.98%, with 350 articles currently in Category:Stub-Class Professional wrestling articles. It still would be greatly appreciated if members would expand, source and improve stub articles, and a list of well-known wrestlers and tag teams that should be fairly easy to improve is included on the stub article subpage.
• Based on the members list, there are currently 247 members participating in WikiProject Professional wrestling.

This section is intended to warn users about potential targets of vandalism and speculation: professional wrestling events from major promotions for the month of October.

• 24 - World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) presents Bragging Rights

• On September 28, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announced that WWE NXT would be moving to their official website beginning with the October 5 episode.
• Tyler Black debuted for Florida Championship Wrestling on September 30, using the name Seth Rollins.
• Pimpinela Escarlata and Faby Apache won the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship on October 1 by defeating Alex Koslov and Christian Von Eerie.
• On October 3:
  • It was announced that Jersey All Pro Wrestling promoter Frank Iadevia had reached an agreement to run New Japan Pro Wrestling shows in the United States beginning in 2011.
  • El Felino defeated Gallo to win the CMLL Occidente Light Heavyweight Championship for the first time.
• On October 5 La Mascara defeated Volador Jr. to win the Mexican National Light Heavyweight Championship
• On October 7:
  • Mickie James returned to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) on Impact!.
  • It was reported that Bruce Prichard had joined TNA as a producer.
  • It was reported that Austin Aries, Erick Stevens, Necro Butcher and the Dark City Fight Club (Kory Chavis and Jon Davis) are no longer under contract with Ring of Honor.
• Claudio Castagnoli won the vacant PWG World Championship on October 9 by defeating Chris Hero, Joey Ryan and Brandon Gatson in a four-way match.

• At TNA's Bound for Glory event on October 10:
  • Jeff Hardy won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship for the first time, by winning a three-way match against Mr. Anderson and Kurt Angle.
  • Kurt Angle stated that he had re-dislocated his rib during the match.
  • Tara won the TNA Women's Knockout Championship by defeating defending champion Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, and Madison Rayne in a four-corners match.
• On October 11:
  • Satoshi Kojima won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship by defeating Togi Makabe.
  • Evan Bourne was written off television due to a shoulder injury. He underwent surgery on October 12 and is expected to be inactive for approximately four months.
• On October 12:
  • Mr. Anderson suffered a concussion at the Impact! television tapings.
  • Kevin Nash's contract with TNA expired.
• On October 13:
  • It was reported that WWE had released eliminated NXT competitor Jamie.
  • It was reported that Freddie Prinze, Jr. is once again working for WWE as a producer.
• On October 15:
  • Matt Hardy was released from his contract with WWE.
  • It was reported that Katarina Waters had signed a contract with TNA.
• On October 19, Ring of Honor announced that Christopher Daniels had officially signed a contract with the company.
• Mike E. Milano, the owner and promoter of Defiant Pro Wrestling died on October 20 following a stroke at the age of 46.
