Hi Chuser. You participated in Misplaced Pages:Deletion review/Log/2011 April 13#Ch interpreter. Originally closed as "o consensus = no change to the status quo", the DRV close has been amended by the closer to relist. Ch
Do you have a relationship with the author of Ch, Harry Cheng? Are you working under his direction, perhaps as a student in his department or as an assistant or because he's asked you? Msnicki (talk) 19:20, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Single Purpose Account
I have tagged your contributions at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Ch interpreter (2nd nomination) with Template:Spa because you appear to as meet the description of a Single-purpose Account:
"A single-purpose account (SPA) is a user account whose editing is broadly limited to one very narrow area or set of articles, or whose edits to many articles appear to be for a common purpose. Many SPAs turn out to be well-intentioned editors with a niche interest, but a significant number appear to edit for the purposes of promotion, showcasing and/or advocacy. For these reasons, experienced editors often scrutinize the editing activities of SPAs carefully in a discussion to discern whether they appear to be here to build an encyclopedia (perhaps needing help and advice), or alternatively edit for promotion, advocacy or other unsuitable agendas."
The only effect of the SPA tag is to add the following text after your signature.
— Chuser (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
In communal decision-making, SPAs will sometimes have a tag added after their name, as an aid to those discussing or closing the debate. These tags are not an official Misplaced Pages policy, and may be heeded or not based upon your judgment and discretion. Please do not take being tagged as an SPA this as an attack on your editing. Some users just find it easier to discuss issues when it is clear who the editors are. Guy Macon (talk) 14:37, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your explanation and detailed information about SPA. However, I feel such a tag under my signature is a way to humilate me. Comparing with others, my contribution to other topics may be not that significant and here is one contribution I made some time back. I wish I could do more when I have more time. But I have not seen such a tag being added for the SPA IP or user's account during the discussion to humilate them. Chuser (talk) 07:27, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- I apologize if you feel humiliated. That is not the intent of the SPA tag, and I have no bad feelings toward you.
- Perhaps you could address the reasons why I concluded that you are a Single-purpose Account. If I am wrong about any of the following items I would like to know it.
- First, there is your edit history Do you agree that your edits are limited to one very narrow area or set of articles? Even the one edit you reference above is about scripting languages, and Ch is a scripting language.
- Second, there is your user name. It sounds a lot like "Ch User". Is there some other reason you chose that name?
- Thirdly, there is the fact that you refuse to answer the question another editor asked you ("Do you have a relationship with the author of Ch, Harry Cheng? Are you working under his direction, perhaps as a student in his department or as an assistant or because he's asked you?") You are not required to answer, but I am free to consider your refusal to answer when determining if you are a SPA. I also note that You have talked to Dr. Harry Cheng via email Guy Macon (talk) 08:43, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- If you read the times/dates on the edit history, you may also conclude that Harry Cheng is available for consultation at all hours of the day. TEDickey (talk) 11:09, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Ch interpreter (2nd nomination). Thank you. Guy Macon (talk) 11:02, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'm making a note here that WP:AGF is not a suicide pact. By his user name Chuser discloses at least a personal preference for Ch. Similarly, the other editor by creating an article here on the product Hamilton C shell (now deleted & moved to his user space) demonstrates some interest in that topic. Both Chuser and the other editor have pushed the boundaries of AGF by asking each other if they have a closer COI-type connection with the respective products. Unfortunately, the nature of Misplaced Pages's business is that an editor who "loses" an AfD for something he created will sometimes lash out at similar articles. I'm aware of a very long-term previous disruption caused by such editors which even ArbCom failed to resolved, but after more years passed and disruption accumulated, the community finally resolved it (by banning the disruptors). Just a word of caution to everyone. Tijfo098 (talk) 12:10, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
