The anthology Lawyers in Hell is the thirteenth book and eighth anthology of the Heroes in Hell series created by Janet Morris. It contains twice as many stories as any previous anthology in the series.

• "With Enemies Like These" by David L. Burkhead - Synopsis: Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. is tasked with kidnapping Confederate veteran, attorney, and State Supreme Court justice William Dunlap Simpson. Things go awry and the two have to work together to escape Niflhel, the Norse Hell. In the course of their travels they thread their way through a carpet of live poisonous snakes, challenge Nidhogg, the world serpent, to a Game of Questions, and cross rivers of caustic venom. Other characters include Modgud, the giant Vafthruthnir, and Garmr.
