Steven Wells

Please do not delete <marquee >PERSONAL ATTACKZZZ!!!</marquee> from the Steven Wells pages, IP4 space is limited and we can only allow poor old user:Mikerichi just so much of it 8-) Andy Dingley (talk) 21:53, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Good idea to archive the notability stuff from the Swells page. Any ideas on how to go about dealing with some blatant sock puppetry? Not that I'm directing that at any individual in particular, mind...FrFintonStack (talk) 00:45, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Disambiguation

You appear to be misinterpreting the disambiguation guidelines. They say that (play) should not be required if it is redundant (i.e., if there is no possibility of confusing it with another work by the same author). It is only not redundant if an author, for example, wrote a novel and then adapted it as a play, or vice versa. The Liar (Goldoni) is the standard form used throughout the Wikiproject Theatre pages. DionysosProteus (talk) 16:29, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. It was more for your information, since every other play, etc. disambiguation I've come across uses the form I describe. I don't think it's different sets of guidelines at work, more an ambiguous phrasing in the guide that doesn't make the standard form clear. Since the Fry seems to be the only novel, though, (novel) would be the standard. kind regards, DionysosProteus (talk) 12:38, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Sjorford! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 15 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Maria Doyle Kennedy - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Robert Carver (sailor) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Fair use rationale for File:Hawk-Eye.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Hawk-Eye.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 08:47, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts.
