Isoceteth-20 is the polyethylene glycol ether of isocetyl alcohol that conforms generally to the formula HO(C2H4O)nC16H33 where n has an average value of 20. It is used in cosmetics as an emulsifier and surfactant. It is found in acne-fighting medications, styling gels, shampoos, facial cleansing products, mascara, anti-aging creams, liquid soaps, astringents, artificial tanning products, and eye creams.
