David Lichens (born in Portland, Oregon) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter.

In 1995 he joined legendary Christian rock band Petra which exposed him to lots of worldwide touring and studio experience.

Lichens then moved to Los Angeles. His demos caught the attention of EMI Publishing. He is currently leading the band The Heavy Steadies.

Lichens' songs and compositions have been featured in several films and soundtracks. His single "Let Go" was featured on the movie soundtrack She's the Man. Other of his songs have been featured in films like Saved!, After Sex, and The Water Horse and TV shows like "Everwood".

Lichens is one of the producers of Fefe Dobson's third studio album, Joy in which he cowrote at least three songs still expected to appear on the album scheduled for release in November 2010. He cowrote two of the singles from the album. "Watch Me Move" has been released as a digital download and as music videos. "I'm a Lady" is another of the songs co-written by Lichens.
He has also worked with former American Idol contestant and singer-songwriter Jason Castro and Castro's younger brother Michael.

Dave just recently finished producing Rebekah White, for Printz Board's (Black Eyed Peas) company BEETS and PRODUCE.
