OccupationNews presenter

Lee Lin Chin is the weekend presenter of World News Australia on the Australian SBS TV, a network addressing a multi-cultural audience. She has been part of SBS for many years.

Biography

Lee Lin Chin was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and grew up in Singapore, where, in 1968, her media career began in both television and radio. Her varied career has included newsreading, research, reporting, interviews, selecting and programming music, voice-overs for commercials, and making in-flight programs for international airlines. She has a reputation for being a highly-professional and respected news anchor.

In 1992, she starred in a minor role as a newsreader in the independent Australian movie Resistance by Hugh Keays-Byrne. She also had a small role, playing a Thai interpreter, in the 1989 Australian mini-series Bangkok Hilton, with Nicole Kidman.

Career At SBS

Her career at SBS began in the mid 1980s in the subtitling unit, adding English subtitles to Chinese language films, and became weekend news presenter in 1992.

The SBS fashion show Fashionista was built around her idiosyncratic fashion sense. She keeps up with the latest fashion trends and eccentric hairstyles, and has an extensive collection of glasses that correspond in colour to her outfits.
