Playing career
Brasher started his NHL career when the Montreal Canadiens signed him as a free agent in 1992. He has played for the Canadiens, the Vancouver Canucks, and the Philadelphia Flyers, primarily being known as an enforcer throughout his career.
Had an intense rivalry with Marty McSorley, the two would get into long brutal fights nearly every game they played against each other, sometimes multiple times a game. Their rivalry would result into one of the most infamous incidents in hockey, which ended McSorley's career.
During the February 21, 2000 Vancouver-Boston game, when Brashear played for Vancouver, Boston enforcer Marty McSorley struck Brashear in the side of his head with his stick. Brashear fell to ice, his head bounced, and his unsecured helmet flew off. He was knocked unconscious due to grade 3 concussion.
Brashear returned the next season and had a career year in production to that point.
Has ignited two brawls on two different teams, the smaller Vancouver-Sabres brawl, and the most penalized game in history the Flyers-Senators brawl, which had four rounds of players fighting.
To this day is considered to be one of the toughest and best fighters ever to play the game.
