  • Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
  • Offer a correction if possible.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 14:03 on 10 January 2025) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
  • Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
  • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
  • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

Template:ITN-Update

Not so much an error, more an omission. Can we have a picture of one of the three female Nobel Peace Prize winners please? We very rarely get female faces up there so let's not let this opportunity slip by. We've had plenty of middle aged white guys recently. Thanks. 81.156.126.24 (talk) 14:02, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Actually, we had a black woman up there for a good while just under a week ago... But yes, I'm working on it, trying to decide which one to use a photo of... — Joseph Fox 14:04, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. Much appreciated. 81.156.126.24 (talk) 14:10, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Now done. Thanks for the suggestion! — Joseph Fox 14:14, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Thank-you too, for your help and so speedy too! 81.156.126.24 (talk) 14:30, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
  • My request is to please reconsider the wording for the Nobel Peace Prize announcement. It was awarded "For their non-violent struggle" and should be listed in the news as non violence instead of women's rights. These women transformed society and their government and put an end to civil war, which is much bigger than women's rights. USchick (talk) 17:39, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
I do think the women's rights aspect is the key, but what if it were to be changed to add "non-violent":
  • Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (pictured), Leymah Gbowee, and Tawakel Karman share the Nobel Peace Prize for their non-violent efforts to advance women's rights.
Would that be considered acceptable? Is that too much of an "obvious" duh? Does it make it too long? We can't just drop the women's rights facet to the award entirely though. Thanks. --LV 19:50, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Wrapping
Resolved – Bencherlite 15:08, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Shouldn't the dates at the bottom of this section (currently 'October 5 – October 6 – October 7') each be wrapped in a {{nowrap|}} templates? I've just seen a dangling '7' on it's own line. Modest Genius 18:13, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Sheesh. How small are you keeping your browser window? I'm not sure this is something that needs to be "fixed", as it probably affects a very small number of users and it'll need to be changed on 366 different pages. -- tariqabjotu 05:37, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
I was on a work computer, not one I often use, which is why I noticed. Modest Genius 10:38, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Testing it, I found that the last digit wraps when the screen is at 920px wide, which is wider than I expected it would be. howcheng {chat} 09:00, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
@Tariqabjotu, Actually, I suspect only {{SelAnnivFooter}} would need to be changed, so it wouldn't be too hard. Bencherlite 10:44, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
I have the same issue, running at 1920x1080 with the Firefox sized to take up one half of the screen. I suspect there are a lot of other users running the same way. 69.129.65.57 (talk) 12:43, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Fixed by Fox. Bencherlite 15:08, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
