Did you know... that tickets bought for the ceremonial opening of Kiev Republican Stadium scheduled for June 22, 1941 were still valid 7 years later, as the event was "postponed until after the Victory" due to the Nazi invasion to the USSR?

Stadium was named after Khruschov before 1947

I have a map of Kyiv dated 1947, and the stadium was already bearing Khruschov's name at the time. It was definitely before destalinization because of Stalinka name on the same map. -- Serguei Trouchelle (talk) 14:09, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
