Founded in 1993 by Stephen Shank, who was formerly CEO of Tonka, to serve working adults and employers, Capella University offers degree programs and certificates in business, technology, education, human services and psychology.
Today, the university has more than 12,000 enrolled "adult learners from all 50 states and more than 50 countries." Capella University is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Since 2005, National Public Radio in the United States has run on-air and Internet advertisements for the school.
