My name is Chris Griswold, and I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I was born and grew up in Franklin, PA, attending first Central Elementary and then Franklin Area High School. Previously, I lived in New York City, where I worked at Jim Hanley's Universe and studied and performed improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English writing from the University of Pittsburgh, along with a film certificate and a minor in German. At Pitt, I was a squadleader in the University of Pittsburgh Varsity Marching Band; a sister of Tau Beta Sigma service sorority; and a member of Quo Vadis, the group that gives tours of the historic Cathedral of Learning. Additionally, I was active with The Pitt News, first I was a copy reader; then I wrote as a columnist, reporter, reviewer; and finally I held the positions of Opinions and then News editor.

It was at Pitt that I began my long association with Friday Nite Improvs, Pittsburgh's legendary cult improv show. I have served as the showcase host for many years now, and I also hold unofficial (not much is official with us) positions as producer and public relations dude. I also recently put together the Pittsburgh Improv Showcase, to create a community of improvisors in the city, along with a Web site to serve those groups as well as aid in the creation of enw groups and projects.

In 2002, I met my fiancee Lexi at an improv show. We began to date, despite both us not wanting to do so. She and I were engaged December 28, 2004 in New York City. Lexi will graduate from Pitt this year, receiving both a BA and a BS, with majors in Psychology, Philosophy, and History and Philosophy of Science, and almost enough credits to be a Chemistry major. On top of all of this, she has taken many science courses in a few short terms in order to apply to study veterinary medicine.

I am currently applying for the NYC Teaching Fellows, so that I may return to New York and contribute my abilities to the New York City school system.
