Catalan

I think we should say that it is a Catalan surname since in Catalan "Nadal" means Christmas and most people called Nadal are from Catalan-speaking cities. This fact could also be added into the page if we move it back to the title "Nadal (disambiguation)". --SMP - talk (en) - talk (ca) 15:32, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Rafael Nadal

I strongly feel that this page should be redirected to Rafael Nadal since he is by far the most popular person bearing this last name. A disambiguation page will be created to list other people with Nadal as the last name.

• This does not appear to qualify as uncontroversial, as the edit history indicates a number of editors feel the tennis player is the primary topic. older ≠ wiser 16:35, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Moving to the contested section, definitely needs discussion. I would argue that Rafael Nadal is the primary topic of Nadal, just like Barack Obama is the primary topic of Obama despite all the alternatives at Obama (disambiguation). Jenks24 (talk) 16:39, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
