American Terror: Confessions of a Human Smart Bomb is a graphic novel / comic series written and illustrated by Jeff McComsey with co-writing by James Cooper (Vol 1). The graphic novels are distributed by indie publisher Alterna Comics. Two volumes that have been released. A third volume is in production. The film rights to his work entitled "American Terror" are represented exclusively and worldwide by WBMT Literary, Film and Television. Jeff McComsey was the first client ever signed by the agency.
Synopsis
The story follows the life of Victor Sheppard, a rebellious individual who lives in a futuristic world where everything is seemingly at peace. No one in this dystopian future seems to remember how they got there. American Terror has been described as "A visionary and near-future hybrid of a Sergio Leone Western, Blade Runner and Mad Max. The first screenplay of the trilogy (written with Eric Ramos) is based on graphic comic novelist Jeff McComsey's series about a former soldier named Victor Sheppard who becomes the father of a Revolution and eventually a new nation after corporations are granted sovereignty in a Third World country. This is the first script of the trilogy and holds massive commercial potential across the board, including the live-action feature film and its sequels, television live-action spin-off, animated spin-off, graphic comic novel publication worldwide, video gaming and even supports the creation of a massive multi-player online gaming world."
Film Adaptations
In 2009 a short film was released, co-produced by McComsey and Joseph Krzemienski of indie animation studio, theFictory. The film uses traditional/hybrid animation and is entitled "American Terror: Company Man."
