He is the son of legendary Telugu actor Krishna. He started out his movie career as a child actor in his father's films before turning professional at the age of 22.
Known for his good looks, charisma, and polished acting and dancing skills , Mahesh has starred in some very successful movies such as Rajakumarudu, Murari, Okkadu and Athadu. Mahesh married Bollywood actress Namrata Shirodkar in February 2005.
