Welcome
Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Misplaced Pages
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
Here are some other hints and tips:
- I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Misplaced Pages, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
- When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.
If you have any questions, check out Misplaced Pages:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. Nn123645 (talk) 04:57, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry my bad. Wrong IP. That was not meant for you --Ultimus 02:21, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Your recent edits
Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 06:20, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
My talk page
I do not want any more messages from you about Misplaced Pages articles. Post on the Billage pump instead of bugging individual users on their talk pages. Graham87 05:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Re: Arnold Murray Article
Please review the documentation on each of the templates and carefully read them. The article was far from sounding like an advertisement, and you had a blank {{articleissues}} template. If background information was CUT out of the article, why don't you just go into the history and restore the missing information? --Dan Leveille 13:20, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- If a user removes content without explanation, you can revert their edit. This is not an edit war. An edit was is if the user reverts your edit, you revert theirs, etc. If this happens, simply warn the user, and then bring it to the attention of an administrator. You DO NOT need to add tags if the information was originally added to the article, and removed. Simple go into the article's history, and copy and paste it and save it. The clue bot will help with vandalism, but if it doesn't editors will revert vandalism. You can too. I strongly encourage you to create an account if you plan on continuing to edit articles. Anonymous edits like yours, have a reputation. If someone sees that an edit is done by an unregistered user, other editors will usually study the edit more, because most vandalism is made without registering an account. --Dan Leveille 14:12, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Add in the information that was removed without any explanation. That's all I have to say. If they deleted it, add it back in - simple as that. If a user removes it, revert the edit, and warn them. If they continue to remove it, get the attention of an admin. I don't think you understand how WP works. --Dan Leveille 15:25, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
