Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Anders Behring Breivik, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Misplaced Pages:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Saddhiyama (talk) 00:12, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Anders Behring Breivik. Please review the guidelines at Misplaced Pages:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Saddhiyama (talk) 00:19, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Please stop removing sourced content. El Mundo is a reliable source. JonFlaune (talk) 00:20, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Sorry

I went too fast when looking at the amount of reverts and such. I didn't notice the source as I was using huggle. My apoligies. Curtis23 talk to me 00:32, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

I appreciate that. Thanks. JonFlaune (talk) 00:33, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi.first, i dont see the need of writing he is anti muslim and pro israeli together. o.j simphson is pro israeli, do you see that writen on his page? no.

second, the article that the sentence was taken from is from 2009(?) and there is no link. the only proof to the sentence was writen in an iranian blog.

We include the complete quote, not just the first part of it. JonFlaune (talk) 01:05, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Where the complete quote was taken from? give me the link to the article.

The reference is cited in the article. JonFlaune (talk) 01:07, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

This is what it says: "^ "Dynamittgubben" (in Norwegian). Aftenposten, A-magasinet (NO). 20 February 2009."

where is the link to the article??? thats not a real article. where did you get this quote from???? IsraeliUpdater ({{User talk:JonFlaune#top|talk]]) 01:09, 24 July 2011

The reference is cited in the article. JonFlaune (talk) 01:07, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Just two short questions

Hi,

Did you have any previous, or still active, account in Misplaced Pages? What is your main purpose with this account?

Just asking--Gilisa (talk) 18:17, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

I have been a user at a different language edition for several years. I'm not obliged to explain to you my purpose with anything. Instead of stalking me because someone reverted your removal of anything that might reflect negatively on the pro-Israeli camp, why don't you respond on the talk page and back up your position with some sources? JonFlaune (talk) 19:37, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

I only asked you questions. Keep the guidelines of English Misplaced Pages, which are WP:CIVIL and not blaming someone who asked you question for stalking you(???). You're biased editor and showed that on the TP and here again, just try-even if it's too much for you, to keep WP:NPOV. Also, I had good reason to question you and I truly feel no need to apologize about that, or about anything at all, in front of you.--Gilisa (talk) 20:25, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Er, I'm not a biased editor, at least not any more biased than you. JonFlaune (talk) 20:28, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Breivik's ideology

I'd very much welcome your input here. --78.35.236.221 (talk) 19:08, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Quite frankly, as long as it's mentioned somewhere in the article (which it currently is), I'm moderately satisfied. We agreed to remove it from the introduction of the other article (on the attack) as a compromise. But I agree that the introduction of the bio article is not very well written. JonFlaune (talk) 19:17, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Breivik & zionism

You're saying we should add Breivik's political beliefs, but he has hundreds! How is it possible to add them all?! Would you also support adding that he supports the following political movements: NDL, EDL, the International Freedom Alliance, the Army of Republika Srpska, Knights Templar, Crusade terror organizations, Democratic Party of Japan, Sixth Republic of South Korea etc. and many more. Are you willing to add them all to the lead? Imagine what the lead would look like if we added all that to the intro? It does not make sense to add zionism to the lead. Pass a Method talk 15:57, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

No, I'm only saying we describe the political beliefs reliable sources highlight as his core ideology. JonFlaune (talk) 15:59, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
I could find reliable sources for each of his above core ideologies:

And many more. Does that mean they should all be added to the article? Off course not. it makes no sense whatsoever and is against WP:UNDUE Pass a Method talk 16:29, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Edits

Your editing suggests you have used wikipedia for more than three days. but your account is only three days old. Do you have an explanation? Pass a Method talk 17:18, 27 July 2011 (UTC) I've been editing on a different project for years. How about concentrating on finding some sources supporting your position? JonFlaune (talk) 17:26, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

So this is the first account you have used in wikipedia? Pass a Method talk 17:43, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

No, read my user page. I suggest you find something more productive to do than heckling me on my talk page, e.g. responding on the article talk page and coming up with some sources. JonFlaune (talk) 17:47, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Thats a stupid request (no offense). Its the equivalnt of asking to find evidence that someone does not smoke. I already acknowledge he's pro-israel, but i'm saying that putting it in the lead is WP:UNDUE Pass a Method talk 17:52, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Then discuss that on the relevant article talk page and find sources supporting this position. Btw., I've not been editing the article for days, merely providing sources on its talk page. Maybe an idea you should consider? JonFlaune (talk) 17:53, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Not that it matters, but

I've posted two replies in the section I started at Talk:Anders Behring Breivik. I know it won't change anything with people like the majority in that section, but it truly grinds my gears how proper encyclopedic procedure is chucked aside without any repercussions, nor any chance to even undisturbedly address and discuss the issues. --87.79.210.245 (talk) 00:32, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

There have been a number of subsequent discussions including this one. I believe the general consensus is that the lead stays the way it is, especially as the opponents have failed to cite any sources. The lead has been fairly stable for many days. JonFlaune (talk) 00:47, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. --87.79.210.245 (talk) 00:51, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Geir Lippestad

The article Geir Lippestad has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There's no evidence the subject is notable. He gets mentioned and quoted in media coverage as a result of defending someone in court but there is no reliable/independent coverage of the subject himself that satisfies WP:N nor WP:PEOPLE.

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Marc Kupper|talk 07:53, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Bat Ye'or and BLP

This edit may be considered a BLP violation. If you intend to add such a category, you should make sure the sources are there to support it, and preferably get consensus on the talk page. You've also added Dhimmitude to a similar category without supporting sources. This follows your move of a long-standing template to a POV title, with a rationale ("non-extremist title") that seems incongruent with the action. Also, it would be helpful if you used edit summaries so other editors can see what you are doing. Christopher Connor (talk) 12:08, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

I don't need to add any sources because this is sourced in the article. (Category:Conspiracy_theorists states: "For purposes of article inclusion, this category specifically only includes articles where the subject is mentioned in their article as actively defending one of the conspiracy theories listed in the articles under Category:Conspiracy theories". The Ye'or article discusses at length her promotion of the "Eurabia" conspiracy theory, which is listed in Category:Conspiracy theories. This follows your move of a template from the neutral, established, and scholarly term to a POV title expressing a fringe point of view and which pretends the racist Eurabia conspiracy theory is merely "criticism" of Islam.
Ye'Or belongs in Category:Conspiracy_theorists per the description in Category:Conspiracy_theorists. JonFlaune (talk) 20:20, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

BLP noticeboard

Hi, there is a report at the BLP noticeboard in regard to your contributions - Misplaced Pages:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#User_JonFlaune - please comment there, thanks - As a new user editing contentious articles about living people please take your time to read some of our WP:Policies and guidelines, especially WP:BLP in relation to additions about living people and consider WP:Adoption which is beneficial to new users, thanksOff2riorob (talk)

Section title change at BLPN

Regarding this, my title accurately describes the content of the thread, which is about your edits at Islam-related BLPs. Your title, "User:Christopher Connor vs. User JonFlaune", is not only an inaccurate description on the thread, but a violation of WP:BATTLE, because it encourages users to fight each other, which is something I'm not interested in. One editor at the thread largely agreed with me, and said you lacked understanding of policy; they didn't mention any of my edits. If you have concerns over my edits, feel free to start a discussion about them on another thread. Christopher Connor (talk) 05:51, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

You have already been told by another user that "This is not an appropriate place to discuss this - 'none of this concerns WP:BLP policy". There is no question that you are filing false "reports" merely to harrass me, and the thread is equally about your edits. In addition, you are revert warring to enforce a title attacking and harrassing another user with whom you disagree over some issue (Fjordman being labeled far-right, as he is labeled by the Norwegian Misplaced Pages and countless reliable sources, a label which also has the support of other users than me, because it's the mainstream position supported by any reputable source, several of which are cited in the article). JonFlaune (talk) 06:08, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
Would you accept a name to something like "Islam-related BLPs: Fjordman, Bat Ye'or"? Christopher Connor (talk) 06:14, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
Yes. JonFlaune (talk) 06:15, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

The word "Islamophobia" is only propaganda of Ruhollah Khomeini

The creators of this word Khomeini and the Mullahs in Iran only wanted to defend Islam and defame all critics. The islamic reformer Bassam Tibi and the german journalist Henryk Broder said that.--95.114.86.242 (talk) 16:41, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Islamophobia

I noticed you had earlier categorized articles under Islamophobia. I have created this category now and am building a hierarchy for the category. You are welcome to join in. I am re-categorizing some of the material from the Anti-Islam category that fits the definition of Islamophobia (prejudice or racism against, hatred or irrational fear of Muslims) as opposed to the definition of anti-Islam (criticism of Islam as a religion). JonFlaune (talk) 14:24, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll give it a look. Also not that some articles may fit both categories. // Liftarn (talk) 20:28, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

July 2012

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on David Horowitz Freedom Center. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Misplaced Pages's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
Two editors have reverted your addition of "far right hate group" and you are edit warring to enforce your POV. You are also in violation of WP:BRD. – Lionel 18:10, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

Um, your claim that "Two editors have reverted your addition of "far right hate group"" is a plain lie, as the article history shows. In fact, not a single editor has reverted my well sourced addition of that sentence. I'm not in violation of anything, but you are abusing templates and making false claims on my talk page. JonFlaune (talk) 19:57, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

These edits , by myself and Shrike were promptly reverted by you without discussion. That is edit warring and a violation of WP:BRD. And there are 2 of us. The warning is properly placed and valid--if you don't understand perhaps there are WP:COMPETENCE issues, or maybe WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT. Note that if you have a competence issue WP:CIR applies. In any event, if you continue edit warring you will be blocked. Questions? – Lionel 23:37, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
You continue making false and nonsensical claims as the article history demonstrates. The only one engaging in any form of edit warring is you, while my last edit is a completely different version from any previous version that closely follows WP:MOSINTRO and is properly sourced. If you continue behaving disruptively on my talk page abusing templates because you WP:IDONTLIKEIT instead of taking your issues (i.e. your pushing "conservative" views) to the relevant article talk page, you will be blocked. Also note that Misplaced Pages articles are based on reliable secondary sources, not self-published material, like you added here. Questions? JonFlaune (talk) 02:09, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Please stop

I am asking this as a fellow editor: Please desist and do not continue to accuse other editors of prejudice/"bias" simply because you disagree with them, or feel you are not "getting your way".

If you continue, it is likely that I (or perhaps others) may request at the admin's noticeboard that your comments be looked into. This is simply inappropriate. - jc37 23:38, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

your editing on rachel corrie

hi jonflaune - we appreciate your numerous edits on this page, trying to bring in information that is relevant, important and well-sourced. however, in your zealousness, you might have missed the fact that there is a 1RR () in effect for this page. i believe your rv of the "30 songs" violates that.

in addition, you rarely give an edit summary, making it difficult for other editors to know what you have done. so please try to be courteous to your fellow editors. thanks.

and lastly, since you appear to be new to the topic area, the groups you removed (shurat hadin and ngo monitor) are not fringe. and neither is honest reporting. please self-revert those edits before additional wiki editing wars start. not worth it....

if you have any questions, i am happy to try to help. Soosim (talk) 14:57, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

I have not reverted anything. The omission of the end of the sentence on 30 songs led to the sentence ending abrubtly in an incorrect way in English, so it was either an accident or pure vandalism on the part of the one who did it. Shurat HaDin is obviously a far right fringe group nowhere near the notability of Amnesty International, and I see no reason to flood a section in Corrie's biography with the opinions of such groups, a section that was already too long, and where the Israeli POV is already amply represented (even over represented). JonFlaune (talk) 15:01, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

You broke 1RR on Rachel corrie

  • -This edit was not vandalism of course
  • -And this as you removed opinion of organisations you didn't like.

I suggest that you will self revert. Thank you.--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 15:26, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Nonsense. Reverting obvious vandalism (which would have been a clear BLP vio in an article on a living individual) by a SPA vandalism only account with only 2 edits doesn't count. Editing/trimming a section I have not edited before has nothing to do with reverting anything. Stop your disruptive editing and making false claims on talk pages. JonFlaune (talk) 15:30, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for making a report about MathKnight (talk · contribs · block log) on Misplaced Pages:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Misplaced Pages and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 16:18, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
