Welcome to the Misplaced Pages!

Hello, and Welcome to the Misplaced Pages, Solo999! Thanks for weighing in over on Cesar Tort's talk page. Here are a few perfunctory tips to hasten your acculturation into the Misplaced Pages experience:

And some odds and ends: Boilerplate text, Brilliant prose, Cite your sources, Civility, Conflict resolution, How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Pages needing attention, Peer review, Policy Library, Utilities, Verifiability, Village pump, and Wikiquette; also, you can sign your name on any page by typing four tildes: ~~~~.

Best of luck, Solo999, and most importantly, have fun! Ombudsman 17:09, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Your block problems

Hi. I saw on the Administrator's Noticeboard that you have been having problems editing articles using AOL as your IP. I can assure you that the block log has nothing specific to this account, and administrators of Misplaced Pages do not have the ability to see what IP you are editing from (so they couldn't be blocking the IP just to stop you from editing). What is likely happening is people using AOL are vandalizing the encyclopedia and are being blocked, and because of the dynamic nature of AOL IPs you are ending up blocked as collateral damage. I can recommend this link (Misplaced Pages:Advice to AOL users) to hopefully help you in editing here. If you find yourself blocked, you could also click on 'email this user' on my User:Syrthiss (or any other administrator) page (in the "toolbox" a little ways down the left side of the screen) with the IP copied from the block notice and I can check about lifting the block. I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time, and I hope that you can accept my assurances that nobody is consciously trying to keep you from editing. --Syrthiss 18:24, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
