Loss of data

The category "Tipperary hurlers" has been deleted after a campaign by an editor, Laurel Lodged, who has changed the titles of many GAA articles without discussion. Tipperary hurlers are now listed in an anomalous category "Tipperary GAA hurlers", which does not link to this page. Brocach (talk) 00:00, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

What loss? Those who were born in NT are listed in the NT cat. Those who were born in ST are listed in the ST cat. "from" implies geography (i.e. NT and ST). Geography is not synonymous with governing body area. They are all listed in Tipperary hurlers; this remains unaffected. This has been explained many times to Brocach. Unfortunately he has hearing difficulties and so we must bear with his foibles for a bit longer. Laurel Lodged (talk) 01:22, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

I fully agree with Brocach. What next Sportspeople from Fingal and Sportspeople from Dun Laighaire - Rathdown cause thats the were there from as far as you are concerned Laurel Lodged. You say

"from" implies geography (i.e. NT and ST).

The i.e. implies that it is the local government that decides were one is from. The County of Tipperary is "synonymous with governing body area" of Tiperary GAA. Finnegas (talk) 21:06, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
