Christopher Francis Stark was born 12 March 1987 at Northwick Park Hospital in Middlesex, England. He is a British radio personality, best known for his work as a contributor on the Scott Mills show on BBC Radio 1.

Radio career

Chris started working in hospital radio at the age of 16, and gained experience working at stations including Galaxy, Real Radio, Virgin Radio and BBC 6 Music. At 18 Chris started at Southampton University where he was given his own show on the student radio station Surge. It was here that he started to become known for the Stuff that would later become daily features on Radio 1.

He officially joined the Scott Mills show team on 2 April 2012, but occasionally appeared on the show as 'Scott's "friend" Chris' for a long period of time prior to this. Chris participates in most of the show's current features including Real or No Real, Innuendo Bingo, 24 Years at the Tap End, and Loving the Tolls. He currently has 4059140 Scott Mills points.

24 Years at the Tap End

Chris Stark is perhaps best known for the feature 24 Years at the Tap End, in which he reads excerpts from his "autobography." He was originally inspired to write his own autobiography after reading the autobiography of Brendan Sheerin from Coach Trip. The title refers to his on-air realisation, at age 24, that he had been sitting at the wrong end of the bath his whole life. The first episode aired on 11 November 2011. In this episode, Chris revealed that his parents had originally planned to name him "Porrick." Throughout the series, Chris recounts memorable events from his "years at the tap end" which often include mistakes made and life lessons learned through adventures with his friends.

24 Years at the Tap End introduces us to many recurring characters from Chris's life. His friends Sir Dossa, Dougsie, Webbo, Chazzer, Chinese Dave, and The Convict have all played an integral role in the stories.

While most episodes take us to one specific year in Chris's life, he has occasionally presented themed episodes which visit moments from several years.

Chris admitted going through a brief period of writer's block in December 2012. He revealed that he was having a hard time remembering stories for new episodes, and Scott Mills suggested that he try hypnotism to uncover lost memories. In January 2013, Chris continued with new episodes and also began to revisit some stories he had touched on briefly in past episodes, providing more detail about those events.

Other works

Chris is also an accomplished club DJ, something he has done from the age of 15. It was during his time as a resident DJ at Southampton University that he met Scott Mills. Their friendship led Scott to involve Chris in his radio show.
