Overview
It is the story of two families related by blood and yet distanced by circumstances. It is the story of two brothers Ayaan and Asad who are separated by their families but are united in their hearts. It is also the story of Zoya an NRI who has come to India to find the truth about her father. The journey of the Khan family is seen through the eyes of our three protagonists…Zoya the young, spunky and progressive NRI, Ayaan the charming boy who falls for every beautiful face and Asad the man with the angst who eventually learns to love. The show begins at the point where Zoya runs away from a marriage that was being forced on her.As she is running from the men of the boy's family she goes to a mosque where Asad and Ayaan both are stunned by her beauty.Later Asad meets her twice on the streets. Then it turns out that Zoya will be living in Asad's house as a guest. After a lot of fights between the two Asad finally tells her to leave the house and so she does .Asad's mother, Dilshad, tells Asad to bring Zoya back home. Asad goes to find Zoya and saves her from the goons who were troubling her. Asad gets to know that Akram who is working in his company is the person who was going to get married to Zoya and Zoya ran away . He asks Zoya to meet Akram and apologise for her behaviour on the day of their marriage . Akram kidnaps Zoya and tries to make her marry him by force when Asad comes and saves her. After this they develop a type of friendship and love-hate relationship. During the happenings at Asad's house Ayaan's sister Nikhad's marriage is arranged with a boy named Imran whose mother Hassena is a spiteful woman who wants to manipulate the Khan family. She is very greedy and is always teasing Nikhad because of her dark complexion. She wants to know the relation between Ayaan and Asad so she can blackmail the family. One she gets to know this she breaks the marriage and everyone blames Ayaan and Asad for it. Their mothers make them promise that they will never meet each other again. Asad thinks that Zoya told his mother about him and Ayaan (Zoya once caught him and Ayaan in his room at night). He gets angry at her and asks her to leave the house immediately. Eventually, he forgives her. Later, Asad and Zoya happen to end up in Mangalpur for Asad's relatives wedding. Zoya comes to know that the bride is being forced into this and tells her to run away immediately. Zoya then dresses up as the bride and goes in place of the bride. She signals to Asad that she isn't the real bride and when she is questioned whether she accepts the marriage or not, she replies "Qubool nahi hai" and runs out of there. Asad comes to the rescue and they run away from there. They end up at a motel, but later are caught by the grooms relatives. They eventually find a way to get away and run into the jungle. However, they find a weird man and he gives them water, upon Zoya's request. He tells them to stay there and leaves. Zoya drinks the water and Asad finds a hand in the ground and discovers that it's dead bride. In realization that the weird man was bad, he goes tells Zoya his discovery, but finds her unconscious on the ground, because of the "water". The grooms relatives come and they tell Asad to leave, but Zoya would have to stay. They bury Zoya alive and they drop Asad at the bus stop. Soon after they leave, Asad runs to where Zoya was buried and discovers that she's not breathing. He mourns over her death. Miraculously, Zoya starts breathing and they return home. Asad tells Zoya to not tell Nazma or Dilshad about what happened. Later, Zoya discovers the runaway bride, Maryam in the backyard and keeps her in the store room of the house. Eventually, Asad discovers Maryam and forces Zoya to send her back home, She does this, however, Dilshad brings her back into the house. Asad's mother then gets a bullet above her heart which almost kills her. Asad blames Zoya for this, but later finds out from Dilshad that she brought Maryam into the house. Mortified with guilt, Asad apologizes to Zoya. Asad tries to find out who the killer is with Zoya. It is revealed that Razia and Mamu were apart of a conspiracy, of the burning of a doll factory 17 years ago. Rashid was apart of this too, and because of this, he had to leave Dilshad, Asad, and Nazma for Shirin. Razia had sent a man to kill Dilshad, and Rashid's mother suspects Razia of having to do with the incident. Razia confesses to Dadi alone that she was the one who had sent the man to kill Dilshad. Razia also threatens her for her life if she tries to get more involved in this.
