Lawrence Lessig (b. June 3, 1961) is a professor of law at Stanford University and author. He was educated at Wharton School of Business, Trinity College, Cambridge, and Yale Law School.

He has written two books, Code and Other Laws of Cyberspace (2000) and The Future of Ideas (2001) and is a well-known critic of the lengthening of the protection term of copyrighted materials.
