Teams

Of the 24 teams which will participate, eighteen of these remain following the 2012–13 Football League Championship. They will be joined by three teams from 2012–13 Football League One, and three teams from the 2012–13 Premier League. On 20 April 2013 , AFC Bournemouth were promoted to the Championship after Brentfords 1-1 draw with Hartlepool .

As of 13 April 2013, 10 teams have been guaranteed a place in the 2013-14 season, despite having a chance of promotion to the 2013-14 Premier League, they cannot be relegated to the 2013-14 League One, therefore earning themselves at least a spot in the 2013-14 season of the Championship.
