The March Massacre is the name given to the mass killing of ethnic Azerbaijanis in early April 1918 by Armenian and Bolshevik forces . In just only three days according to Justin McCarthy 12,000 Azeris were killed in Baku alone .

In Shamakhy district, the number of victims reached 7,000 in April 1918 . In the Guba district more then 3,000 Jews were murdered , the number of villages destroyed comprised 122 . Rovshan Mustafayev who is the director of the Human Rights Institute of the National Academy of Science, stated that about 3,000 Jews were also killed during the March Massacre in the Guba region .
