The 2013 World Series will be the 109th edition of Major League Baseball's championship series. The best-of-seven playoff will be played between the champions of the National League and the American League. The American League will have home field advantage for the series, based on their win in the All-Star Game at Citi Field in Queens, New York, on July 16.
The Series is tentatively set to begin on Wednesday, October 23, with Game 7 scheduled no later than October 31, barring weather delays.
The games will be televised in the USA on Fox. Joe Buck and Tim McCarver will call the series. This will be McCarver's final World Series, as he is set to retire after the 2013 season.
