What I edit

For a while most of my articles have centered around current events, especially Chad and its turmoil with Sudan. However, I've gotten bored with daily updates on the situation, so I'm going to transition more into working on textual analysis of State of the Union addresses. I'm still tracking WikiProject Chad, but there will be less large edits in the future.

KI is presented this Africa Award for his excellent contributions to Chad-related articles, and particularly for the Chadian-Sudanese conflict. Presented by Aldux from the Africa-related regional notice board

Text of the Dec. 28 communiqué

REPUBLIC OF CHAD
United Front for Democratic Change
(F.U.C.)
Press communiqué No. 001/FUC/O5
- Considering the gravity of Chad's politico-social situation;
- Considering the constantly renewed will of the Chadian people to finally see the opposition in general, and that of politico-military people in particular, united against the challenges of the Deby dictatorship;
- Considering the convergence of objectives and programs of the different movements in struggle, i.e.:
1- To relieve Chad of the dictatorship of Idriss Deby
2- To ensure peace and security of persons and property on all of its territory
3- To promote national unity and concord, social justice and the equality of citizens
4- To refound the State and relaunch the political and democratic process through the organization of a national forum charged with defining a national political consensus and fixing the rules of a sound and just political competition, a token of peace, of justice and of socio-economic progress
The politico-military movements signatory to the present communiqué, brought together in a special dialogue from 26 to 28 December 2005 at Modeina, have decided on the following:
1- The dissolution of all the organizations and their integration into one unique movement named: UNITED FRONT for DEMOCRATIC CHANGE, abbreviated F.U.C.
2- The pooling of all material, human and intellectual resources and their effective allocation to the realization of the objectives cited above
3- The putting under one command of the armed forces of the movements signatory to the present communiqué
4- The movement is placed under the direction of Mr. MAHAMAT NOUR ABDELKERIM (president) and of Mr. HASSAN SALLEH ALGADAM (1st vice president), Mr. ABAKAR TOLLIMI (2nd vice president)
The United Front for Democratic Change launches a pressing appeal for the mobilization and unity of political forces of the interior and invites them to join efforts to put an end to the Deby dictatorship. To our partners in development and to countries friendly and fraternal to Chad, the Front launches an appeal for solidarity with the Chadian people and their request, above all, to not be mistaken about the intentions of Deby, who seeks desperately to divert their attention from the grave Chadian political crisis by naming foreign scapegoats.
