Elton John is the second album from Elton John. Because Empty Sky didn't see an American release, Elton John's self-titled second album was many people's first exposure to his music. Compared to the ambitious Empty Sky, the follow-up features the catchy melodies and intelligent lyrics that John and lyricist Bernie Taupin became known for.
