You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Jamie Conlan has been speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Misplaced Pages. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:07, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

January 2013

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. Vincent Liu (something to say?) 11:22, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 4

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Categories

Hi, hope you won't mind a bit of advice - its good to add categories to new articles - if you take a look at Kieran Marmion for example you can see the cats I added to it. All articles should have some cats and for a living person they need to have "Living people" and "(year) births" as a minimum. If you need any more help, please send me a message. --Bcp67 (talk) 21:03, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

References

Hello, I saw that you have been improving the Operation Serval article. Thank you for your work! But I would like to point out that you do not need to add the references you use twice! As of now you put your references correctly into the "<ref></ref>" template and then you also copy the same link into the "References" section. This is not necessary. When you put a link into the "<ref></ref>" template anywhere in the article, it will automatically be listed with the correct number in the "References" section. So there is no need to copy the link a second time. Best regards and keep up the good work :-) noclador (talk) 10:54, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for the heads up I will make sure it does not happen in the future.Tomh903 (talk) 12:20, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
you're welcome :-) and if you have any other question: feel free to leave a question on my talkpage or User:Buckshot06 or User:The ed17 or User:Nick-D talkpage - one of us 4 is always online and we focus all four on the military pages.

Re: Skyrim images

See here: link. While the author of the work is mattboggs, he is not the copyright holder of the work. The copyright holder is Bethesda Softworks/Bethesda Game Studios/ZeniMax Media, you need permission from them to upload under the Creative Commons license. Unless the copyright holder has given permission to use the work under Creative Commons license, it should not on there. Video game screenshots should be uploaded using the non-free tag if there is no permission and it falls under fair use: Template:Non-free_video_game_screenshot.

Also from the description of the screenshot, it displays a modded version of the game which is an inaccurate representation of the actual stock game, so it shouldn't be included in the article. The1337gamer (talk) 10:05, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Charlotte Mckenna

The article Charlotte Mckenna has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTABILITY not established

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Welcome to MILHIST

Hello and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Misplaced Pages's coverage of topics related to military history.

A few features that you might find helpful:

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of the project coordinators or any other experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome, and we are looking forward to seeing you around! Anotherclown (talk) 07:16, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

ROG

Hi, ROG's move was confirmed by an extremely credible source that I referenced. It is normal practice here on wiki to add such edits IMO. Cfs198 (talk) 11:01, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

It does not matter. I did not want it on the page until it was confirmed by Munster Rugby and not just some anonymous "source". Remember Misplaced Pages is not the news we can wait until it is officially announced, a few hours won't make a difference. Thank you for your edits but be more patient in future.Tomh903 (talk) 13:14, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

"I did not want it on the page". Is it your page? I would not call the Irish Independent an anonymous source. They stated it was "confirmed", not rumoured. If Munster Rugby were the only accepted source for the page you could be waiting for months to update certain facts/events. Their site commonly has errors to do with the squad. Cfs198 (talk) 17:30, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

I didn't state it was "my page" but I have the right to take stuff down if it is not sourced correctly. If you look at all Munster related pages, ALL of the match reports etc.. come from the official website. Read the guidelines WP:NOT#NEWSPAPER. You do not need to put up incorrect material just for the sake of a few hours. I know the material you put up yesterday WAS correct but what if it wasn't? Then it would create a mess that everyone would have to clean up.Tomh903 (talk) 18:17, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

ROG page

Just curious to see what someone else would think of the idea - do you think it would be a good idea to put a section on ROG's page with links to the articles he is doing for the examiner? I'm torn with the idea because it could get too big, but it could be good, not sure. MunsterFan2011

Sounds like a good idea. Go for it if you want, I can't see any problems except the one you mentioned so I don't think any other editors will have an issue with it.Tomh903 (talk) 14:17, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Ronan O'Gara

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article Ronan O'Gara you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by GA bot, on behalf of Shudde -- Shudde (talk) 03:46, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Ronan O'Gara

The article Ronan O'Gara you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within 10 days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Ronan O'Gara for things which need to be addressed. Shudde 04:41, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Hey Tom. Unfortunately I've failed the article. There wasn't a lot of action regarding some of my comments. I'd encourage you to work on the points I raised in the review and consider renominating it in the future. It's got the bulk of the material there necessary to meet the criteria, but it's just not there right now. It's close though, and definitely worth persisting with. If you want any help with the article let me know, I'd be glad to pitch in where I can. – Shudde 03:42, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Ronan O'Gara

The article Ronan O'Gara you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Ronan O'Gara for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Message delivered by GA bot, on behalf of Shudde -- Shudde (talk) 03:47, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

Article Feedback Tool update

Hey Tomh903. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:44, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Re: League of Ireland is professional

You'll find that the LoI is listed and sourced as a non-fully-pro top flight at WP:FPL. I would also add that WP:NFOOTBALL, the principal notability guideline for footballers, explicitly excludes youth international appearances as a source of notability.
