Speedy deletion nomination of Raul Cuero

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Raul Cuero requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... Plenty of media coverage, interesting (though minor) scandal. Subject of the article appears to have gone a bit over the line in terms of inflating his CV and has been called on it in a very public fashion in a reputable newspaper. This might not survive AfD, but there's enough here to prevent speedy deletion. Lesser Cartographies (talk) 02:34, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

A few reminders on[REDACTED] policies and guidelines

1. Information must be sourced reliably, and per WP:RS reliable sources are independent of their subject. As a matter of practice, we usually relax this rule so a CV can be used for noncontroversial information. As the CV itself is controversial here, that won't be the case.

2. Misplaced Pages does not host CVs. See WP:Autobiography.

3. A couple of newspaper articles may not be sufficient to establish notability, and the kindest thing to do here may be to send the article to AfD and be done with it.

Lesser Cartographies (talk) 12:27, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

Looks like Elspectador has given us a list of newspaper articles that feature Dr. Cuero. I don't see notability being an issue going forward.

Dr. Cuero, as an academic I have some idea how distressing this must be for you. I expect you'll be tempted to just continually revert the article back to your favored version. You won't be the first person to think of this. The technique is called edit warring and doing so may lead to your account being blocked, leaving you with no influence on this article. If you confine your remarks to this talk page, however, I and other editors will be happy to work with you to write a neutral article that reflects accurately the sources we have. Lesser Cartographies (talk) 12:44, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

I'm Adding a polemic section. The person who is editing the information is not Dr. Cuero . IF someone one to delete the article section cant do it but please replace the section by a summary of how many articles are found in scopus. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SwinburneMel (talkcontribs) 22:43, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

Hello, SwinburneMel. I'm afraid most of the material you've added to the article isn't appropriate and will eventually be reverted. As I mentioned on my talk page, the Francis Crick article doesn't contain a citation list, and this article won't either. I understand why you think it might be useful to have a[REDACTED] article that refutes the El Spectador story, but that's not an appropriate use of this resource. I'm willing to work with you to make this a good, neutral encyclopedia article, but the first step in this will be removing much of the material you added.
As an aside, when you're leaving a message on a talk page, please "sign" your comment with four tildes, like this:~~~~. That will be converted into your user name and a timestamp. Thanks! Lesser Cartographies (talk) 23:40, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

I propose the follow changes that can be see in my sand box . are you ok Lesser Cartographies and Bgwhite with that change? i want to end the polemic and stop the vandalism from other users?SwinburneMel (talk) 00:28, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

I've left my remarks here at the talk page of your sandbox. Thanks for starting the conversation. Lesser Cartographies (talk) 01:31, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
