Revision as of 10:03, 9 November 2013 by EatsShootsAndLeaves (talk | contribs) (you may not remove)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff) You have been blocked from editing for a period of 3 days for edit warring, as you did at Megatron. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice:{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
This message is a formality -- ES&L already left you a message regarding the block I intended to impose, I know you're aware of it, and I'm not posting this to try to "revert" your blanking. For the record, you really do need to brush up on what is and is not vandalism if you want to avoid further incidents like this one. —Darkwind (talk) 03:02, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
It has LONG been accepted that after a user reads messages left on their Talk Page, they may delete them. FORCING users to retain messages is an unjust and punitive punishment that is certainly not codified in any Misplaced Pages "legal" proclamation. =//= Johnny Squeaky 03:12, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- It has been suggested on the relevant Wiki Legal pages that I am "violating" some rule that demands that I leave messages here on my Talk Page. This is a "rule" that does not exist. My Talk Page is mine. I am not obligated in any way to leave messages here. And as anyone even passingly knows, all content is viewable in the History. The "demand" from certain "editors" that I leave messages here is a punitive punishment for balking at the "group think", but is certainly NOT a Misplaced Pages "rule". I understand that I will be PUNISHED for saying this, but really, for those that like to be "Wiki-Lawyers", you know that I am correct on this point. =//= Johnny Squeaky 05:43, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- Seriously. Read WP:BLANKING before you somehow dig yourself in even deeper. Your Talk page is not yours. In fact no editor has any right to edit Misplaced Pages in any case, and if you keep up with this your Talkpage access will be revoked. DonIago (talk) 05:47, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
Although users are indeed given significant leeway in how they maintain their user talkpage, those policies are clear about one exception: you may not remove active block notices, or declined unblock requests while they are still in place. That's not optional. If you didn't want a nice shiny block notice, don't get blocked - simple as that. I have re-added Darkwind's formal block notice back to the top of this page - although my personalized one was considered official and should not have been removed either ES&L 10:03, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
