A guitarist (or a guitar player) is a person who plays the guitar. Guitarists may play a variety of guitar family instruments such as classical guitars, acoustic guitars, electric guitars, and bass guitars. Some guitarists accompany themselves on the guitar by singing or playing the harmonica.
Imran Akhoond is a prolific and versatile guitarist from Pakistan. He has been recording professionally for over 14 years. Over the years he has displayed his unique chops as a session musician and recorded with most of the renowned Pakistani mainstream artists. In 1998 he joined the team of South Asian Pop singer Shehzad Roy.
