You wrote me to stop disruptive editing. I am the one who put up the wiki page to my images of signatures. My competitors kept changing all of the links to their webpages for advertizing. I changed it back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miraluck (talkcontribs)

I removed what you said I removed because there are no sources to back that piece of information and is rather biased.

Clearly out of date and biased since there has not been any instance of Al-Douri advocating for separation of Iraq into Sunni and Shia only states.

Need your guidance

Hello Jim. I noticed that you recently reverted edits on article Sajin Vass Gunawardena. Well I did the same yesterday and have been getting bombarded ever since. Let me clarify before I proceed; I am NOT requesting you to interfere in WP:ANI discussing and talk on my behalf; all I am trying to do is get an independent opinion on the matter.

I reported matter on ANI as I found certain action objectionable and questionable. Well, as expected, I did not get a satisfactory answer and have hence raised further points. In the meanwhile, it will be helpful for me if you can guide me on

a) If the article was updated as per WP:NPOV guidelines? I checked and found no issues.
b) If the contents (except the mention of Sajin begs forgiveness) were properly sourced and could have been maintained in the page?
c) If the admin was right in revoking my rights when I had not even violated WP:3RR rule?
d) If reasons given for content blanking by Admin were correct and justified?

Please try and help me out. Cheers AKS

Concerning the Time Crisis page

As stated in my edit comment, it's the fourth time during the last 2 years that someone edited that page by adding false/unsourced information about a Time Crisis 5 game and a remake for the first one to celebrate the series' 15th anniversary. There are neither news nor rumors about new games in the franchise, it's pretty much defunct after the latest mobile titles. Also the soundtrack section, they keep adding info about "poor jokes" made by some obscure comedian i've never ever heard of, even by searching on Google.

I hope you can stop those vandals once and for all. I think one of the IPs was from Asia or something. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.248.67.154 (talk) 15:18, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

Potential edit war

I see a potential edit war in the Michigan gubernatorial election, 2014 article in which an editor whose editing history indicates he is a Rick Snyder supporter removed text back by citations which state that Snyder is vulnerable. I started discussions in the article's talk page as well as the talk page of the editor in question User talk:2602:304:B0FD:19C0:90AA:941F:B0AF:76CF but he removed my posting calling it uncivil. You can read his talk page's history at . Steelbeard1 (talk) 01:39, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

Hey, why don't you STOP ADDING the speedy deletion nominations? Keep the article as it is and don't try to delete it. 124.82.12.115 (talk) 02:12, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Was trying to reverse the redirection and made a mistake

It was by mistake. I was attempting to reverse the redirection, to comply with Misplaced Pages's policy for Chinese place names. From Ningbodong Railway Station to Ningbo East Railway Station, because the English name for the cardinal point should be used, rather than Pinyin name Livewireshock (talk) 02:56, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

No problem! Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 02:58, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Ariane Rinehart

I have added the age of the person and the source where the information was from. Her Twitter is a reliable source according to Misplaced Pages's list of credible sources. Although her Twitter is not verified, it is her official Twitter. The content I am adding is not "controversial" as you stated before and should not be removed. It is also not a form of vandalism. What I am posting is public information about the person.

Do your job right before warning others.

Do you not WANT to understand that Ninja of Cao's page is made solely for the purpose of CALUMNY? Or is that how wikipedia runs things huh? It's made to injure others! "Alexander often came into fights with bullies and decided to switch schools one year prematurely as a result of "constant bullying and tiresome violence". In the next school he was subject to an attempted murder by who he describes as "a deranged and violent" classmate who strangled him from behind without apparent provocation. " "When Alexander was 16 he begun studying at the gymnasium, but was once again subject to threats of murder and attempted attack by the same classmate as before." "Throughout his time on the Internet, Alexander was victim to much harassment by other users, causing several cases of depression. He says that it is highly probable that the harassment was based on his political ideas, even though he has also been called "deranged", "insane", "ugly", "fat", "enemy of God", "liar", "gay""

None of that is true. What he does is AGAINST THE LAW.It's meant to injure the people of the mentioned forum who banned him for being a drama queen. He simply wants to get back at us and we're tired of that crap. Everything he says is for the purpose of injuring US and acting like the Victim.

So remove that or we're forced to take legal measures. Catboxx12 (talk) 09:47, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Ahmed Kathrada

Hi,

There's a very long biographical interview here:

http://www.parliament.gov.za/content/KathradaTribute_lowRes.pdf

It talks about his revolutionary struggle, his early commitment to Communism and his life as a prisoner.

There is a section, where he is asked about religion as a "Muslim", ie, his identity as he was born into a Muslim family but note that he does not say that he believes in Islam, instead he says that as a prisoner he went to all the religious services - and his favourite was the Christian service.

Being born into a Muslim family does not make you a Muslim, you have to believe and he doesn't.

--Tovojolo (talk) 10:08, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

There seems to be a bit of a revert war going on with his religion. I noticed that you had added "atheist". Any interest in adding that ref? Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 10:11, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

--- My only interest is keeping Misplaced Pages articles factual.

Unfortunately, there are zealots who believe that being born into a Muslim family makes you ipso facto a Muslim, it doesn't.

I have read about Kathrada's life and what is notable is his struggle against all forms of intolerance.

As for that edit warrior, you'll notice that he's already been blocked from Misplaced Pages in the past.

Hi Jim ... protection of CUFFARO article.

Hello Jim,

There is this guy called CIVA61, he is part of a group of sicilian vandals, who kinda "take care" of all the articles related to people connected to the mafia to try to make them look somehow "good". Now this CIVA61 has reverted the photo to an old one from year 2006 instead of the updated and contemporary picture of cuffaro in prison following his criminal conviction. I see he has been going around vandalizing the article in the other national wikis posting the old picture of cuffaro as well.

Can u please revert it to the original and lock the article to prevent further vandalism from this CIVA61 ?

That guy is part of a group that unfortunately virtually controls the italian edition of wiki.

Thks very much.

BTW ... HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014  !!

Re your work on the 'effective stress' section

Dear Jim,

Regarding the 'effective stress' section, much of the information are wrong.

1. The reference given was wrong (i checked it in the library, Terzaghi's works were on different pages, and even in those pages, he did not explicitly define effective stress. Please refer to Terzaghi's works in either 1923 or 1936.

2. The analogy of adding and removing water to the spheres contains several mistakes. e.g. if you keep adding more water, hydrostatic pressure at the bottom of the pile would keep increasing (see triangular distribution of hydrostatic water profile). Effective stress stays constant because total stress increases by the same amount. Also, if you remove water, effective stress may not change at all if the spheres collection are allowed to change its volume.

3. Effective stress is the stress that controls the shear strength and stress-strain behaviours of geomaterials (refer to basic soil mechanics textbook). The concept of effective stress itself can be made much more fundamental (refer to the works of Biot or Coussy)

Please redo the entire section.

Best regards, Liam.

Central Square Central Schools

Jim1138,

I appreciate the edit you've made and the work you've done on the page, however the school district in question does not keep an updated list of Graduates who've achieved success, which is why we add new ones every so often.

There is no cite-able list as you've requested because again, the school does not keep that information, it's a list assembled by an outside organization, if you'd much rather prefer, another page not linked to the schools page, however that would not have a cite either.

Please provide an update on what you would like to be the next steps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.90.72.226 (talk) 18:01, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Administrator intervention against vandalism report regarding Traditional Chinese medicine

Thank you for your report at Misplaced Pages:Administrator intervention against vandalism. I have blcoked the IP address for 24 hours. I initially declined your report, but then realised that I had made a mistake. I don't know whether you saw my decline message, but if you did then I think I owe you an apology, as I made unjustified criticism of your editing. I just looked at the messages currently on the IP talk page, not at the history of deleted messages, and I thought you had just posted a level 4im warning without any previous messages, which would have been unreasonable, for several reasons. Normally, I do check talk page histories, as well as what is currently on view, and it was a mistake not to. However, I can offer a word of advice that may help make such mistakes less likely in future. Don't post an "only" warning (i.e. level 4im) unless it really is the only warning the editor has been given, but instead use a regular "last" warning (i.e. level 4, not level 4im). In effect, you said that there were no revious warnigns, and I took your word for it. I should ahve checked, and I accept responsibility for the fact that I didn't, but I am suggesting how you can helo to make such mistakes less likely. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:24, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

  • I see that while I was writing that message, you posted to my talk page. I will have a look at the other IP addresses, and see whetehr there is a case for a longer block, page protection, or anything else.. I now see that the 4im warning was made using Huggle. Unfortuantely, Huggle does not always do what an intelligent human editor would do. My guess is that you requested a level 4, and Huggle, seeing no previus warnings on the page, took that as a 4im. I used to make a lot of use of Huggle, and I found it necessary to do a lot of manual checking, rather than letting Huggle make all the decisions. A very useful tool, but one that needs to be used with great care. However, I really don't know whether I would have noticed there was a problem in this case. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:31, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Oh, the joys of edit conflicts. I see that yet again, while I was writing here, you posted to my talk page, and the article is now protected, so I don't need to consider that. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:35, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
  • One more thought. When you make an AIV report, if you know relevant background, such as that the same editing has previously been done from another IP address or account, it is worth briefly mentioning the fact. I would certainly have taken a different line on this case if I had known the full history. (And yes, I know that when you make an AIV report you are told to "keep it short", but I wouldn't take that principal too far.) JamesBWatson (talk) 13:04, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Outfit7

Hi,

Apologies Jim1138, the information was incorrect; Outfit7 was not launched in 1993.

Thank you for your diligence nonetheless.
