Here is a list of the Wikipedians who have made more than 1500 edits to the English Misplaced Pages main namespace, or are one of the top 2,500 editors to all namespaces. It is generated by this script. This is the list as of 11 Mar 2006, when the English Misplaced Pages had about 1,064,259 registered users, ~300,000 of whom had at least one edit which hadn't been deleted.

Due to changes in Misplaced Pages's server, designed to make it run faster, the tools used to update this page no longer work. The page is thus no longer updated. It is hoped that this will be fixed in the future. If you think you can help fix this problem, please contribute at the Misplaced Pages edit-count project.

Caveats!

The list provides an indication of the heavy contributors to Misplaced Pages. However, it should be taken with a pinch of salt — many of the edits may be spelling corrections, parts of edit wars, corrections of their own mistakes, or successive saves of small changes where others would have used the preview option. Conversely, users who create a number of long new pages or make major additions might well appear much lower on the list. Also remember that many people edit without logging in at all.

Some older edits may not be counted because they were dropped by the old wiki software or were overwritten by database glitches, or because the user changed login names. Although flagged bots are skipped, many high editcount bots like User:Roomba and User:Tawkerbot2 operate without the bot flag, because the reduced visibility would be against their goals.

Of course, we would like as many people as possible to get involved, including those whose only edit may be to fix a simple typo. As of February 2005, the English Misplaced Pages received more than 15,000 edits a day, 35% of which were made by people who were not on the list of the 1000 highest contributors.
