Ewen MacAskill is the current defence and intelligence correspondent for The Guardian. As a result of his reporting on Global surveillance disclosures, he was named a winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service and the 2014 George Polk Award for national security journalism.

Career

McAskill was political editor of the Scotsman for six years (1990-96) before becoming chief political correspondent for The Guardian. In 2007, MacAskill was named Washington DC bureau chief.
