Hi Meganknudsen. I'm sorry but on Misplaced Pages you can't just put pictures you found on the web in articles. More specifically, copyrighted pictures aren't allowed in biographies of living persons as it goes against point #1 in WP:NFCCP. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them. --NeilN 04:50, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Miley cyrus.jpgA tag has been placed on File:Miley cyrus.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Speedy deletion nomination of File:Logo for aloha.jpg
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on File:Logo for aloha.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://continuumseniors.com/seniors/beaverton-senior-pictures.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Misplaced Pages to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Misplaced Pages:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Pictures
Hi Megan. Misplaced Pages is pretty fussy on what types of images it accepts. Because we allow anyone to use our content in any way they like, the content needs to be under a free license. For images, that means they can't be copyrighted. There are some "fair use" exceptions (for example, it's impossible for someone to take a photo of a dead person) but these exceptions do not extend to pictures of living people. Either we have to find a picture that has a free license (for example, these pictures have an appropriate license) or ask the copyright holder to donate it to Misplaced Pages. Sometimes this means we can't use any pictures at all but that's the tradeoff we're willing to accept in exchange for being "free to use". --NeilN 01:54, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Megan. It appears you are off to a rather rocky start here. I undid the edits you did today on Aloha, and here is why. The guidelines for school articles (WP:SCH/AG) state that we do not talk about individual courses, schedules or graduation requirements (with the exception of AP courses). And to list a person in a "Notables" section, they must qualify for a Misplaced Pages biographical article. They don't necessarily have to have one, but you must show referencing that they meet the particular standard for their primary notability under WP:BIO. The particular one for a college athlete is WP:NCOLLATH. It requires extensive media coverage of the individual athlete's achievements (not just game descriptions, roster info, etc.) or having been named an All-American in his particular sport. All that is very doubtful for a freshman, but if you can show that the best plan is to write the article first. Also, you never ever should remove maintenance notices unless you have resolved the issue. The athletic achievements need to be referenced. I don't really know where to find references for Oregon, but in most states it is the webpage of the sanctioning body for high school athletics.
Given all the troubles your talk page shows, I am going to make a suggestion. Editing Misplaced Pages isn't as simple as it seems on the surface. We have a program here for mentoring new users called "adoption". Under it, you are given an individual mentor, who will give you course material based on what you want to do on Misplaced Pages and then is available to help you one on one until you get the hang of things. You will find more info at WP:ADOPTION. Also there is a Q&A forum especially for new users called "The Teahouse". I will leave you a link immediately after this. You can also contact other users on their talk page and discuss why they removed content you put in, or if you have questions about editing a particular article they have worked on. You are also welcome to message me on my talk page with general or specific questions. I will try my best to answer them or find you an answer if I can't. My internet access is somewhat sporadic, but helping new editors is one of my favorite things to do here, so feel free to stop by and chat! John from Idegon (talk) 18:09, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Fifty shades teaser.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Fifty shades teaser.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sven Manguard Wha? 00:36, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Ansel Elgort.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Ansel Elgort.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Misplaced Pages. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones 21:05, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
