AWM Caption: Tengah, Singapore Island. 1953. An aerial view of the RAF Base in the north western sector of the island on which No 1 (B) Squadron RAAF was located. The main airstrip was built post World War II and the other two older strips were withdrawn from flying usage after the new strip was opened. (Donor E. Mc Hardie)
