Banc De Binary is a Cyprus- and Israel-based financial enterprise specializing in binary options on commodities, stocks, and market indices. Customers predict whether asset price will go up or down in a specific time period, where the payoff is either some fixed amount of some asset or nothing at all. It is one of the three largest binary options providers, along with 24Options and AnyOption.
The company was founded on January 15, 2009. In 2010 it launched an online trading system at BBinary.com.
Regulation
On June 5, 2013, the Securities Exchange Commission filed a complaint alleging that Banc De Binary had been offering and selling binary options to investors across the U.S. without first registering the securities as required under the federal securities laws. In a message posted on Banc De Binary's website, the company stated that it "is voluntarily discontinuing ... all business with U.S. residents."
From 25 February 2013, Banc De Binary is registered "subject to limited regulation" by the U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority.
