About me
|
Wiki life
I joined Misplaced Pages in 2009 after making a number of anonymous edits on various articles to do with the English music hall scene. From there, I became interested in the life and career of Stanley Holloway and extended his WP biography (even though he is not strictly from the music hall era). Having made a number of good intention (but frankly awful) edits, I was "adopted" by Ssilvers and Tim riley who obviously saw some potential in Holloway and helped me take the article through to featured article status which it gained in January 2012. These two fantastic editors continue to help out on the many articles I edit, even if they are busy themselves.
I maintain a keen interest in the music hall era and feel that it is somewhat under represented at FA level. It is now my wiki-ambition to score as many featured (or good) articles as I can on the subject. I also frequently moonlight by collaborating with a great editor called SchroCat who I came across last year (thanks to Holloway again). We have worked on a number of articles together which has resulted in the promotion of Peter Sellers and John Le Mesurier (among others) to FA status. We continue to share an avid interest in British comedy actors of the 20th century and hopefully we will work together on many more articles in the future.
Real life
I live on the outskirts of London and I work in English law. I am interested in geneology and have researched my ancestry back to the 1500s. As a result, I have collected over 1,000 genealogy documents, including birth, death and marriage certificates and census records. I have a great family life and have many varied interests including classical music, classic cars, collecting film and theatre memorabilia and socialising.
Can I help?
I often take part in peer reviews and frequently review at FAC. I tend not to stipulate on what kind of article I review, although the shorter the better for me as real life can dominate my time. Having said that I like a long review every now and again, so please feel free to approach me with your request, so long as I have the time to do it. If you have any questions, issues, advice or criticisms about my contributions, then please leave a message on my talk page or through email here. -- Cassianto Talk

discography and stage performances

Thank you for giving us all the details about Dan Leno's performances - his discography and appearances - who was great in "life's mundane subjects, mixed with comic songs and surreal observations", --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:28, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- A year ago, you were the 158th recipient of my PumpkinSky Prize, repeated in br'erly style, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:42, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for all your efforts on Peter Sellers, without which it wouldn't have got through FAC. Thanks also for providing sanity even when illogical insanity seemed to be the basis of at least one editor's rationale for involvement! Cheers - SchroCat (^ • @) 18:10, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for lending your talent to the Sgt. Pepper peer review and FAC. Because of some wonderful teamwork during the last month, the article is among the best on Misplaced Pages today. I couldn't have done it alone, and I hope that someday I can return the kindness and generosity that I've enjoyed during this process. Cheers! GabeMc 16:19, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
