Plot Summary
Template:Spoiler Following a football game won by the local football team, several cheerleaders ride home together in a car. But a few minutes later a drunk driver collides with their vehicle, killing all but one of the girls, who is in a coma. The drunk driver disappears following the accident. The community is devastated by the loss, and the police try to piece together what happened and find the responsible person. The police are assisted in this effort by retired officer Tom Dugan, who finds that this incident brings up painful memories.
Soon the police find the car which had hit the young girls. Tracing the ownership of the vehicle, they find that the drunk driver was in fact the local district attorney, Dutton. Despite bringing Dutton to justice, it appears that the one surviving cheerleader may never recover from her injuries.
