Uppsala (population 189,569) is a city located about 70 km north of Stockholm in Sweden. It is the site of the oldest university in Sweden founded in 1477. Uppsala also has a gothic cathedral, one of the largest in northern Europe, with towers reaching 119 metres. The cathedral can be seen from miles away in the very flat field landscape.
