Catherine Picard (born August 14, 1952) is a French politician from the French Socialist Party. She was a member of the French National Assembly from 1997-2002.
Career
Picard was elected on June 1, 1997 for the French Socialist Party and was responsible for public education. Together with centrist senator Nicolas About, she drafted the About-Picard law. She also has close ties to politician Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Picard is president of the Union nationale des associations de défense des familles et de l'individu and regional adviser of Haute-Normandie.
